Nollywood’s Kunle Afolayan Launches His African Clothing Line “Kunle’s Kembe”

Award-winning Nigerian Actor and Producer, Kunle Afolayan recently launched his own clothing line named “Kunle’s kembe”. He made this known to the public through his social media  pages.

We see this brand as one out  to  celebrate and re-invent  an abandoned African wear. We love it and we are sure  it will be accepted by Africans both home and abroad.

Kunle’s Kembe

According to Kunle, the African trousers come in different colours and sizes. They can  be worn by both male and female.

The Kembe is African attire, a three-quarter baggy trouser. It is loose, wide-bottomed one that reaches slightly below the knee, but not as far as the ankle.

Back in the days, Kembe and Sorro were accompanied with agbada and buba. Sooro is longer than the kembe, it is similar to skinny jeans where in it is close fitting, goes all the way to the ankles and is narrow at the bottom while the kembe on the hand is looser, knee-length, and wider at the bottom.Kunle Kembe which nicknamed KK  doesn’t have to be worn on agbada and buba but with stylish and classy T-shirt.

Kunle has received multiple awards for his movies. His most celebrated works include October 1 and The Figurine, where he took on the role of both actor and director. Some of his other notable works include Irapada (or Redemption), The CEO and Phone Swap.

Being an outstanding Producer and Director, known for celebrating  African culture by telling  our stories in a unique way, we are not surprise with this new African clothing line of his.

We await more remarkable initiatives from the Nollywood genius but before then let’s  join him to celebrate African culture  by patronising his brand and spreading the news.
